Lisa Luxx – Girl Gang (The Sisterhood Song)

£1.49

Lisa Luxx’s debut single is released on International Women’s Day as a celebration of female friendships everywhere. The song is a inspirational anthem for modern sisterhood and the worldwide womxn’s movement.

The British-Syrian artist is best known for her electric live poetry performances, which Dazed magazine called “sensitive and revolutionary – always kind, always fierce”. She has headlined shows at such places as Royal Albert Hall and performed for the UN Women’s #HeForShe campaign. She’s also been broadcast on BBC Radio 4, ITV and VICE. In 2018 she was collaborated with Lebanese musician Flugen, for a series of live shows in the Middle East. Later in the year she received funding to write her debut novel.

Girl Gang is here to bring sisters together in dance and high vibes. Lisa says: “During one of the Women’s March’s I blasted big tunes like Beyoncé’s Formation through a moving sound system. We’ve been through a lot, and women are working so hard on building a better world, so the least we deserve is to dance through the uprising. The oomph of energy and the joy it brought to resistance during that protest is what inspired me to write this song.”
