Ready to take your music career to the next level? Join us for an action-packed creative project hosted live at The Terrace in Dewsbury!
We’re teaming up with Brigantia Creative / Creative Scene to give local artists, producers, and managers the practical tools needed to stand out in today’s industry.
Amp Up @ The Terrace launches on 14 October 2026 at The Terrace, Dewsbury. It’s a free programme for 18–25 year olds
from in and around Dewsbury who are into music, whether that’s making it, mixing it, promoting it, performing it, or working behind the scenes.
Over three terms, young people will come together every Wednesday evening at The Terrace for hands-on sessions led by
local music professionals. We’ve got an exciting line-up including:
🎧 How to DJ — setting up decks, building setlists, mixing tips
🎤 How to write your first song
🔊 Sound engineering, lighting design and tech fundamentals
📣 Live music promotion, branding and marketing
🎶 Performance technique and stage presence
💼 How to set up as a freelancer, start a CIC, and understand tax
🤝 Mentor 1-to-1s with local music industry professionals
AND a real budget to plan your own event
The first term builds towards a Mini Terrace Takeover on 9 December, a public event at The Terrace where participants
will DJ, perform and showcase what they’ve been creating.
The second and third terms then develop into planning and delivering a major youth-led, co-created event in June 2027.
Young people will have a real budget and full creative control, making what they want to see happen in Dewsbury.
