Hebble

Hailing originally from Ireland and both sides of the Pennines, Hebble is a dynamic trio based in Huddersfield and Rochdale that masterfully blends traditional Irish music with original compositions and a touch of Americana. Composed of seasoned performers, the group features instruments like the cello, guitar, bouzouki, and bodhrán, all complemented by rich vocals.

Hebble’s sound has been vividly described as “Celtic tales of wonder and woe swept from over sea and hill into the Pennine valleys. The deep thud of skin drum, the soaring sweep of the cello, the light breeze of guitar and bouzouki.” Their repertoire includes foot-tapping traditional Irish songs and tunes, alongside compelling originals by Samh, often inspired by local history and landscapes.

In just the past two years, Hebble has made significant strides in the UK folk scene, captivating audiences with performances across the country. Their debut single, “The Oldham White Hare,” released on Saving Grace, is a testament to their growing influence and unique musical storytelling.

Hebble consists of:

Singer-songwriter/Multi instrumentalist: Sam Hodgson
