Their intriguing band name originates from a book Finn was reading at the time, ‘Mistborn’ by Brandon Sanderson. The band loved the magical undertones that this title had, thus adapting it to the name we know them by now. After watching a documentary where flat earthers proved themselves wrong, we were inspired to start a movement to gain supporters for our own ridiculous theory – the earth is round, but is in fact the moon that is flat!
Inspired largely by motown and northern soul, Mason names The Beatles and Ed Sheeran to be his biggest influences. Using the musical techniques from both eras, Mason blends the vintage sound of the 60’s with the classic 2010’s songwriter style and creates something brand new, and there’s something in it for everyone.
