From Saving Grace’s first 10-year-old artist being signed to the label to legends in the game getting involved, we have a dedicated team working towards a bright future for the Highest Frequency project.
We reached new heights when we took over BASSment Studios for the HF2 showcase on Saturday, 1st July. It’s safe to say we went in! Now – as we head towards the next level of the HF saga – we invite you to come with us.
The Evolution of HF
Highest Frequency was first dreamed up in 2012 by Huddersfield creatives Max DuBois and Savvy. From the beginning it was about serving as a platform for music producers to realize their creative potential.
Highest Frequency has evolved from a humble electronic music compilation which saught to empower local artists to a full-blown 6-month Development Initiative in collaboration with BASSment Studios & Kirklees Council which was funded through the West Yorkshires Combined Authority’s Cultural Recovery Gainshare programme. We provided education and new opportunities for local musicians and electronic music artists aged 16 to 25.
The HF Development Initiative nurtured local talent by providing:
- Audio production and mixing assistance.
- Showcase and performance opportunities.
- Marketing and promotion of finished tracks to all major digital music platforms globally.
- Event management, promotion, performance, workshops, and new opportunities.
- Advice, guidance, and support for the artist’s first steps into the music industry.
We’re proud to continue and expand on this tradition. We are working in partnership with Kirklees Council and their Year of Music 2023 Program, we’ve set our audacious scope even wider, and we have the means to reach further and deeper than ever before.
The Event
The vibe was right on the night! Big shout out to Hudd’s music lovers that came down to support the diverse roster of HF artists.
The night was hosted by the don Savvy on the mic. Bassline and UKG legends DJ Q and Shaun Dean put BASSment Studio’s soundsytem through its paces. They shared the stage with renowned Radar Radio DJ and Highest Frequency OG, Tony Phorse, local rising talent and groove master Mighty Funk’Houser, Saving Grace’s resident DJ Therealdemo, and BASSment bossman Dreadz.
New HF artists Krash and Slinki also came through to show love and sign their contracts with the label. Marketing & fashion entrepreneur, Anthony Caton returned to the project to interview the artists in signature suave yet investigative style.
Amongst the musical talent in the room was DJ Marcel, the first 10-year-old to be signed to Saving Grace Music. It was good to witness this young prodigy receive praise and encouragement from seasoned pros; building artists through music and community is what HF is all about.
Highest Frequency DJs nourished our ears with music, and Mrs. Green’s Kitchen nourished our bellies with delicious homemade food (I’m still having flashbacks to the food now!)
We heard some of the tasty, tasty licks from Highest Frequency Vol. 2. The album showcases styles of UK Garage, Bassline, DnB, Footwork, Trap, Instrumental Hip-Hop, and tracks that cannot and will not be pigeonholed. The album has a maturer, uptempo, as well as a bassier sound than Vol. 1.
It’s deeply dope, and we can’t wait for you to hear it.
And this night was just a taster of what’s to come…
The Future of HF
Highest Frequency Vol. 2 is a fresh chapter for Saving Grace Music! We have new artists joining the label, and we’re bringing new life to Huddersfield’s creative scene.
Stay tuned as we’ll be revealing the album art and tracklisting soon, and announcing an album launch party uniting all these talented artists and more in one room for your dancing pleasure. This is just the beginning. Future Highest Frequency projects are in the pipeline. Expect more music, more nights, and more vibes!

We received some very positive feedback from the producers and those who have been a part of the HF Development Initiative from the start, who wanted us to pass on their gratitude to Kirklees Council for giving them the opportunity to be a part of this project through their Year of Music 2023 programme, this support provided them with a chance to showcase their music and this is very much appreciated.
