The second installment of the Kirklees Most Wanted (K.M.W.) Showcase hit The Terrace in Dewsbury, and to say it was a “killer night” would be a massive understatement. Following the momentum of our January Huddersfield date, the tour moved across the district to prove that the Kirklees creative spirit is a unified, high-octane force.

From the first beat to the final riff, the evening was a masterclass in genre-blurring excellence and a testament to the “vibrant, inclusive music ecosystem” we are building together.

The Lineup: A Masterclass in Versatility

The mission of the Most Wanted project has always been about discovery. Friday night at The Terrace provided exactly that, with a lineup that swung from transfixing soul to “absolute ruckus.

Fiesta La Ginger

Setting the tone from the moment the doors swung open, Fiesta La Ginger was the heartbeat of the evening. More than just a DJ set, her selections provided the perfect sonic glue, keeping the party vibe high-energy and the crowd moving through every transition.

Eve Jone

In what can only be described as a collection of “pin-drop” moments, Eve Jone had the entire venue transfixed from start to finish. Her vocal delivery—raw, authentic lyricism and stirring—commanded a level of respect and silence that is rare in a packed-out bar. She remains one of the most compelling up and coming folk performers in the region.

Devon

Shifting the energy into a smoother gear, Devon Salinas treated the Dewsbury crowd to a set dripping in lush jazz and neo-soul influences. With sweet vocal tones and a sophisticated musicality, his performance was a masterstroke of cool that had the room nodding and tapping feet in unison.

PENNY

The anticipation for PENNY was palpable, and she did not disappoint. Giving the audience a tantalizing taste of her upcoming album, she and her band illustrated exactly why they are earmarked for “BIG things.” It was a performance that balanced driving gritty drums, funky basslines and dreamy synths all with a mainstream-ready polish, proving that PENNYS dreampop sound is about the have a serious impact locally & internationally.

Don Gonzo

Closing out the live billing, Don Gonzo arrived on peak form to bring what can only be described as “absolute ruckus.” Between the moody riffs, funky basslines, and incredibly tight grooves, their set was the “nail in the coffin” for a truly awesome night. They didn’t just play to the room; they owned it.

Nurturing the Ecosystem

The “Most Wanted” showcase is more than just a gig; it’s a statement of intent. Seeing fans of jazz-fusion staying to mosh to alternative riffs is exactly the cross-genre support the Saving Grace Collective aims to foster. As our founder noted, this project is about giving a platform to the incredible homegrown talent that defines our local scene.
