When we first envisioned Savvy’s single “Where We Come From,” it was meant to be a celebratory bridge between two worlds: his roots right here in Huddersfield and his ancestral home on the island of Carriacou. But as the old saying goes, no plan survives a storm.
On the very day the original track dropped, Category 5 Hurricane Beryl devastated Carriacou. Music instantly took a back seat as survival, relief, and community solidarity took over.
Today, we at Saving Grace Music are deeply proud to present the next vital chapter of that story: “Where We Come From – THE REMIX,” officially out today across all digital streaming platforms.

This is absolutely incredible!!

A New Narrative of Resilience
This remix is much more than a musical reinterpretation—it is a testament to the indomitable “Kayak Spirit” of the people of Carriacou. Trading its predecessor’s initial piercing tone for a smooth, roots-infused reggae and hip-hop fusion, the track reflects the real-world reality of picking up the pieces and rebuilding.
The lyricism has been deeply re-examined: fresh lines intermingle with original ones that have taken on profound, emotional new meanings in the wake of the disaster, anchored by an even stronger, unifying sense of hope.
..compelling listening.. bright beseeching and bewitching

A Global Collaboration
Produced by Savvy himself, today’s release brings together a remarkable line-up of artists who answered the call with heart and soul:
- Ruby Wood (Submotion Orchestra) returns with her soaring, signature UK R&B vocals.
- SammO brings authentic Grenadian artistry to the forefront.
- The Children of Harvey Vale School (Carriacou) provide an uplifting, powerful chorus that hits right at the emotional core of the project.
They are driven forward by a powerhouse live band featuring Rod Mason on horns, Emmanuel Allert on guitar and bass, Sam Hodgson on organ, and Ben Wallbanks on drums.
an instant earworm…raw display of pain presented in his trademark “Savvy” lyricism
Luke Bottomley (Most Wanted)
