The Conquerors was the performing name of Conquering Heart Sound, a dub/reggae/soundsystem based collective from Huddersfield. They wrote and performed their own material together, which was best experienced on a heavy dub soundsystem. The Conquerors comprised of four members, DJ’s Ondis and Zugg-Ting at the controls, selecting from original Conquerors material and a healthy collection of dubplates, with Lokrian and Ras Abe on live trumpet and sax respectively, plus live effects.
The Conquerors were heavily inspired by the likes of Iration Steppas, Aba Shanti-I, Blackboard Jungle, King Earthquake, and everyone else out there bringing the pressure. They made the heavy dub/reggae riddim Combination Dub from Highest Frequency Vol. 1.
