Continuing his release rampage, riding fresh off the back of the success of his recent single Austerity Chamber / Side Effect. DJ and producer Tony Phorse is set to release his new EP, Majeure on Saving Grace Music on June 21st. The EP features four tracks of Phorse’s signature sound, the combination of the brutal yet melodic, relentless but yet considered production show why Tony Phorse is becoming one of the LDNs Techno powerhouses.
Phorse has been making beats since he was thirteen years old. He began his career as a DJ, playing at clubs and festivals around the UK. In recent years he has focused on producing, receiving support from a host of DJs on BBC Introducing, BBC 1xtra, Nasty FM, Rinse, NTS Mode FM and more.
Majeure EP represents a culmination of Phorse’s signature sound. The EP features a variety of tones and textures, all of which are tied together by Tony’s unique production style. The lead track, “Baron-ness” is a driving techno track with an infectious rhythm. “Seen Too Much” is more of a mellow affair with an almost dub-like swing to it. “Termities” sees Tony get into his brutalism again, eerie chord stabs and oh so nasty sliding bassline. An arguable lead track, “Tunnel Rat” is a dark and atmospheric techno track that closes out the EP on a truly powerful note.
Tony Says; “I’m really excited to release this EP,” “I’ve been sitting on these cuts for a little minute now, My friends have been spinning them out ‘n’ about and the responses have been pretty slay!!, it represents my most coherent work yet.
